Akiva on Campus, Eugene OR - 2014


Born in Manchester UK , Rabbi Jack Melul spent over 10 years studying in the top Rabbinic Training Academies in the world.

He received Semicha from both the Rabbinical Supreme court in Israel and Darchei horaah lerabanim of the late chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu zt"l in 2012.

An entertaining speaker, and a moroccan cantor, Rabbi Jack is the Director of Akiva on campus, giving daily lectures on and off campus on topics ranging from the daily talmud to jewish philosophy. His passion for Judaism has brought him all the way to Eugene Oregon, a growing jewish community.  Rabbi Jack meets many students & Young Professionals on campuses throughout Oregon on a weekly basis.


Her passion for the English language and for the Jewish people saw her move to the United Kingdom after studying in Jerusalem for her degree in education. Shira spent 2  years in the UK where she became a dorm councilor and a teacher.

Shira is a qualified beautician, swimming instructor and a singer.

Shira is the director of JSU/NCSY in Eugene and has opened Jewish clubs at a number of high schools.

Born in Jerusalem Israel and raised in a home focused on education,  Her love and talents can be felt by all who meet her.
